Disc Golf at Eagle Nest Lake

Alrighty then, we are back at Eagle Nest Lake State Park for the third time in a week. After the paddling races and fireworks, we are wrapping up our visit here taking pics at a golf tournament. No Tiger, no Phil, not even any golf clubs, just round plastic discs. Freddy was excited because he likes to chase them. I told him that would not be a good idea but he still managed to nibble a couple.

We set up our camera tower on the shared tee of the 5th and 7th holes.

 The views were great.

Discs were available to rent or buy but some competitors arrived with full bags. Freddy was impressed. He drooled a bit.

Let's get right to the action.

There were no bunkers but plenty of, umm, rough.

The groups started arriving at our location so let's take a close look at some of the swings, err, throws.

This one almost hit us.

I told Freddy that a good follow through is as important as a good throw. The finishing position dictates whether your shot might be a draw or a fade. Or end up in a tree. He thought they looked like silly humans dancing by themselves. Let's see who is right.

I think Freddy was correct, and he also tried to be helpful to the competitors. Unfortunately his advice consisted of throwing the disc to him. But he did get some scratches.

As everyone headed for the last hole, Freddy sat in the shade hoping that someone, anyone, would throw him something.

Didn't happen.

Regards,
Greg and Freddy
